WORKING TITLE

THROUGH THE VALLEY

I rest humbly among the trees in hopes of losing myself, only to find myself on the other side. For I may take myself wherever I go, but it is not the change of climate I choose to go, rather the change of soul; I choose to grow.
— Ulises Ordoñez-Perez

The forest is a great escape from all your troubles and fears, or at least it should be. There are more dangers in the city than there are in the woods, the only problem is there is a lot less help in the woods. But overlanding has a second definition than just driving off the beaten path—over preparedness.

After Beto’s sister, Danny, stands up for him and punches his ex in the face for cheating on him, they decide to skip town with their two friends a little earlier than expected. After these four friends plan an arduous journey across Washington state’s dirt roads, they intend to spend the best of times before having to deal with life again. But real life can be a lot stranger than fiction, and strange things indeed start happening when driving through backcountry roads. The only thing they didn’t prepare for was an ominous force that stalks them through the woods—a creature of sorts.

Forest for the trees begins to take a darker meaning when they realize there is another authority that lives in the woods, and it is making their egress much more difficult than they could ever imagine. Armed with their sharp minds, strong wills, and every tool to survive any situation, the four friends will tackle their aggressor methodically and slowly until they get out of the jurisdiction of the beast that hides among the trees.
